Why Invisalign
“I hate the idea of braces!”
The Invisalign system uses a series of clear aligners to gently reposition and straighten your teeth. Compared to metal orthodontics, Invisalign clear braces are:
- 5Comfortable - No sharp edges or wires
- 5Discreet - Clear aligners are nearly invisible
- 5Incredibly effective - Millions of people have seen amazing results
The Invisalign Process
Dr. Moon is an Invisalign-certified dentist with years of aligner experience in Chicago. In his words, this is how your treatment unfolds at our Logan Square office:
Step 1: Consultation and 3D preview
I start with a full look at your teeth and gums, since healthy teeth move more predictably. Then we’ll create a digital model of your teeth and show you a 3D preview of how your smile could look after treatment.
Step 2: Your custom plan and fitting visit
I fine-tune your plan tooth by tooth before your aligners are made. They usually arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. At a short fitting visit, I may add a few small, tooth-colored bumps called attachments, which help the aligners grip and guide specific teeth.
Step 3: Wearing your aligners
Wear your aligners about 22 hours a day, and take them out only to eat, brush, and floss. You’ll switch to a new set every 1 to 2 weeks. Each new set can feel snug for a day or two. That pressure means your teeth are moving.
Step 4: Check-ins every 6 to 8 weeks
We’ll see you about every 6 to 8 weeks so I can confirm each tooth is on track and make small adjustments. Most patients notice visible changes within the first month.
Step 5: Finishing and keeping your results
Minor spacing or crowding can finish in as little as 3 months, while more complex cases take longer. If a tooth or two needs fine-tuning at the end, a few refinement aligners usually handle it. Then you’ll wear a retainer to keep your teeth from shifting back.
Downsides of Mail-Order Aligners
Straightening your teeth with a DIY aligner kit is risky. Without a dentist’s supervision, you have no way of being sure your treatment is working as it should. A treatment that ends with misaligned teeth can lead to headaches, jaw pain, and even an increased risk of tooth decay and gum disease.
We believe Invisalign is the tooth straightening option available today. Come to our office and see for yourself!
Cost of Care
The cost of Chicago Invisalign treatment depends on the complexity of your case and how long your treatment will take. Some patients need only minor alignment, while others require more comprehensive care.
Before beginning, we’ll walk you through your personalized treatment plan, timeline, and total cost, so you know exactly what to expect.

Does Invisalign hurt?
You may feel slight pressure when switching to a new aligner, but most patients find Chicago Invisalign much more comfortable than traditional braces.

For best results, aligners should be worn 20–22 hours per day, only removing them to eat, brush, and floss.

Invisalign aligners are made from clear plastic and are very discreet. Most people won’t notice you’re wearing them.
